90W CO2 Laser Cutter & Engraver — 2′ x 4′ Work Area — $2,500 Complete

I built this 90-watt CO2 laser from the Y-1200 Open Build plans by Further Fabrication (https://www.furtherfabrication.com/). You can watch Rob Chesney’s YouTube build series here:

I finished the build in 2021, and the nearly $4,000 investment (plus untold hours putting it together!) has paid for itself through my business, Sacred Geometry Tools (https://sacredgeometrytools.com), and contract work in Fairfield. The system works great. It’s been a lot of fun and a few good challenges, but I’m ready to move on.

The laser sits on a custom-built table with adjustable leg heights, since the machine needs to be perfectly level.
